Satvik Seva Foundation is a culmination of experience and efforts of
founding directors Smt
Madhavi Saunshi & Shri Prakash Saunshi. Both have experience
of over 20 years working in
various non-profit organizations. We are assisted with SME (Subject Matter Expert)
Smt
Savita Hebballi who has extensive knowledge on Organic farming and
plantations.
Over 60% of India’s population live in villages. However it contributes only about 25% to GDP. If India has to become a developed economy it is essential that village youth are imparted required skills during their formative years of education. Education and skills need to be relevant to the geography, employability, entrepreneurship potential of their region. Women account for 50% of population and they need to be skilled to handle the demands of New India. Digital divide is also huge between Urban and Rural population. India which is marching forward with rapid digitization there is a need to impart relevant skills to rural India so that they are not left behind.

There has been tremendous progress made in Sustainable Farming with
substantial
reduction in
use of pesticides, chemical fertilizers, GMO seeds. Indian farmers will
have to upgrade
their skills to become a major exporters.
The progress needs to be achieved with affordable health and wellness. While our ancestors pioneered Yoga, Ayurveda and naturopathy, however this knowledge is not available to village population. There is a need to impart skills and training.
While Urban India is getting polluted, has infrastructure bottlenecks and high cost of living, with growing slums: Rural India offers hope for living with nature with all the basic amenities in a sustainable way. There is also a great potential for Agro Tourism.
Satvik Seva Foundation is addressing these challenges through its centre in village Divad, about 15 kms north of Hinjawadi, Pune. We are truly blessed to have incredible people supporting our efforts - engineers, teachers, Doctors, social workers, amazing advisors, great partners and fantastic leaders. Your active participation in Satvik Seva inspires us to do more and provides the ideas, resources and the mentoring to carry on our efforts. Thank you for being a part of the effort!
